The most spirited event of the holiday season, Tales of the Toddy, returns to New Orleans December 20 from 5:30pm – 8:30pm with its annual homage to yuletide drinks and the holiday spirits. Being held once again at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, the city’s best mixologists will be shaking up hot and cold holiday cocktails while chefs from the city’s most renowned restaurants serve up their own brand of holiday cheer. Those that are a little behind on their holiday shopping will also have the opportunity to browse unique gifts from several local vendors.
“Every year, Tales of the Toddy is holiday party unlike any other,” said Ann Tuennerman, founder of Tales of the Cocktail®. “The best bartenders, restaurants and local vendors all under the same roof. I bet your office holiday party can’t say that.”
Each mixologist will create a one-of-a-kind holiday-inspired cocktail you can’t try anywhere else. Adding a little healthy competition to the holiday season, we will ask guests to vote for their favorite drink to crown the evening’s most spirited cocktail.
While you sip on cocktails they’ll also enjoy tastings from the holiday menus of New Orleans’ best restaurants. And while you’re getting fill of cocktails and cuisine, take a stroll around the holiday market featuring gifts from some of the most unique retailers in New Orleans. This one-stop holiday shopping spot will feature everything from books to glass art pieces from vendors including Bygone Beads, C’est La Bee, Drink Deck and Unconventional Works.
Just by being a part of Tales of the Toddy 2012, you’ll be spreading a little holiday cheer to the local bartending community, as a portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit the local chapter of the Unites States Bartenders Guild (USBG). Founded as a non-profit organization in 1948, The USBG is the largest network of professional bartenders and continues to set the standard for the profession throughout the country.
Tickets for Tales of the Toddy go on sale October 15, 2012 for $30. For special $10 discounts, check 504ward, Facebook.com, Twitter and the Tales of the Cocktail® Newsletter.
