Michter’s Distillery Operations Manager, Kevin Curtis, is responsible for all of the day to day production operations relating to distilling, barrel aging, whiskey processing and bottling. He is uniquely suited for this wide range of responsibilities due to his wealth of experiences across all aspects of the whiskey production industry, and his education in biological science at the University of Louisville, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology.
Kevin has been in the bourbon industry since 1994. During his whiskey career, he served as Production Manager at the Woodford Reserve Distillery, and he later held the position of Production Manager at the Brown-Forman Distillery in Shively, Kentucky. Prior to joining Michter’s, Kevin was principal owner of Kevin R. Curtis Distillery Consulting.
He is intimately familiar with the distinctly different operations of batch/pot still distillation and continuous/column distillation. Along with his background in grains, mashing, fermentation and distillation, Kevin brings to Michter’s Distillery a deep understanding of whiskey maturation, processing, filtration, quality control and bottling management.
Kevin was born, and has spent his entire life, in Louisville, Kentucky. He resides there with his wife, Alisa, and their three daughters.
